Lynchburg, VA October 20, 2011 - AMTI is pleased to announce that it successfully completed its annual ISO 9001 surveillance audit. The audit was a comprehensive, two-day, in-depth, on-site review which was conducted by AMTI's independent registrar, Bureau Veritas Corporation. The three-year certification remains in effect through December 15, 2013.

CEO Larry Hatch commented, “I credit the entire AMTI team for this successful audit which covered the full scope of our ISO 9001 quality management system. This certification means that we incorporate the highest quality standards in each step of the design and manufacturing process and seek continuous improvement throughout our organization.”

New to AMTI’s control standards is the AS9100 Aerospace Quality Management System, which encompasses aviation, space and defense organizations. Key elements that distinguish AS9100 from ISO 9001 are the requirements for configuration management in product realization and the assessment of risk analyses for key processes at all levels of the supply chain. In June, eight staff members were individually trained and certified as AS9100 Internal Auditors.

“The AS9100 designation is not easy to achieve; however, we are currently AS9100 compliant in many regards due to requirements by some customers. The driving force behind AS9100 certification is to secure a more comprehensive quality management system and to obtain more business opportunities,” remarked Quality Manager Michael Clements.
